    The good people at Freepik strike again, this time with a food related icon pack: 200 glyphs that will leave your mouth watering. As usual, the package comes in multiple formats: flat PNGs (ranging from 32x32px to 128x128px) and fully editable vectors (AI and EPS format).

    The serving is done in partnership with the prestigious Smashing Magazine and you don’t need to bother about any legal restrictions.

    VisualPharm, the design company that gave us (not long ago) the largest Windows 8 icon set, strikes again with a new package: over 180 shiny new icons in the style of the recently announced iOS7. The set comes both as PNG files (in different sizes) and as vector SVG files. How was this package born? Find out directly from its authors:

    “Balanced life with a quality time dedicated to family, sports and Wikipedia — that’s not what we had for the first few days after the iOS 7 was released. We were busy making icons in the new style, and now it’s released. Grab it for free.”

    Just as before, this set is free to use for both personal and commercial projects, provided an attribution link has been added.

    Freepik is a search engine that helps graphic and web designers to locate high quality photos, vectors, illustrations and PSD files for their creative projects. In  their own words:

    “Freepik tracks and locates free graphic content on the Internet and it displays the results in an orderly layout for easy access. Freepik makes it easier for you to find the files you need without manually searching dozens of websites.”

    The entire process is automatic, as content is indexed and ranked by robots and algorithms. Once the user has found the needed files, he or she is redirected to the sites hosting the original files.

    Freepik also brings you great deals for premium packages of design resources. This way one can stay up to date with the best offers available online.

    Colourco.de

    Colourco.de is a very nice application that allows one to create a color palette in no time. Deceptively simple, it treats the entire browser window as a giant color picker – one click and you save the current color in a vertical band to the left of the screen. The process can be repeated over and over again (I stopped after close to thirty selections) and the resulting palette can be exported either as an image or directly as a LESS file. The options available are also comprehensive: you can select color format (hex, rgb or hsl) or select the preset schemes for building a classic type palette.

    Twitter Bootstrap – Complete Responsive Front End Framework

    What started as an internal projects from two Twitter employees, it evolved to a complete framework used by countless designers and developers all over the world. Currently at version 2.3.2 and with a brand new refactoring coming up with version 3.0, Bootstrap has everything one needs to put together a functional website in no time.

    The entire structure is based on several interlocked modules:

    • a grid system (available in both fixed and fluid flavors), that degrades responsively for devices like tablets and smartphones, allowing ones website to be viewed by an even broader range of visitors. 
    • a basic CSS module, outlining standard typography, the display of list, tables, form elements and images, not to mention the included set of glyph icons.
    • a set of complex interface components, like navbars, dropdowns, menus, progress bars and many others, powered by a jQuery-based library, easy to deploy, use and modify as needed.

    Everything is very easy to customize right before downloading the framework, via the customization page. Here one can modify all possible parameters, like size of the grid system, colors and fonts, together with many other variables. Another alternatives would be to download a ready-made theme from one of the many websites (such as Bootswatch).

    Everything is backed up by a comprehensive and easy to use documentation. And if something is missing, there are so many tutorials, as well as a large community of users that can help you whenever you get stuck.

    Today’s resource is one more icon font – you can’t ever have enough of those. Built in a similar manner with Font Awesome, the MFG Labs set contains more than 120 glyphs and their number is constantly updated. The set can be used either stand-alone or via the Fontello icon font service.
